Raising a Puppy When You Work Full Time
Raising a puppy is hard work as
it needs energy, commitment and love in order to give your puppy all they need
for the best start in life
Leaving your puppy alone while
you are at work is the concern that most people have because they want to keep
their puppy safe and healthy.
Fortunately working full time and raising
a puppy is not that hard. But you have to do it right in order to keep
balance between both.
There are some basics of raising a puppy that you should
follow.
Do not leave your puppy in crate while you are at work:
Most of you might have listened that you should leave your puppy in a crate
while you are at work.
But we will advise you not to leave him in crate.
This
is simple because of the common problem of puppy’s bed wetting. 8 to 10 week
old puppies have a tiny bladder capacity that can hold urine maximum for an
hour.
That is leaving a puppy in a crate is not a good idea.
Leave your puppy in a puppy proof roof:
Most of the puppy owners think that leaving their puppy in their kitchen is a
good idea.
But we don’t advice puppy owners to do that.
Puppies feel left alone
on end and starts chewing things up.
These things can include the cable of your
refrigerator, the towel trailing over the edge of unit and the puppy pads that
you have left there for pee.
So, you have to look for a better room then
kitchen.
House train your puppy:
A good house training is what you can rely upon while you are at work.
First
few months of raising a puppy can be crucial and you have to set some
calculated steps for your puppy.
Don’t try new theories in training a puppy.
It
is your schedule who will dictate the rules in your absence.
Get up ½ hour
before your usual wake up time and take your puppy on a walk.
This will be his
little playtime. Save few minutes for the potty break as well.
Another
important thing you need to do is to leave your house quietly.
Don’t make any
lavish display of affection while leaving and try to be less emphasis on
arrivals and departures.
It is a life long habit and you have to train him
accordingly other wise he might develop a sense of separation or anxiety. This
separation and anxiety can then lead to behavioral disorders.
Control their howling and barking:
Puppies when feel lonely start to howl and bark and small puppies can have
surprisingly large voices.
It can easily disturb your neighbors so you have to
limit the time that he spends on his own and have to provide entertainment on
the regular basis.
You can invest in a monitoring system and can make sure that
your pet is okay while you are not at home.
